Halfback Attack

There was a boy named Freddie Chase and he was on a football team.  He had one problem and that was that he was afraid to tackle someone.  He was embarrassed when someone made fun of him by saying, "Everyone look! Freddie is scared to tackle somebody!"  On one Saturday the team had a game and when the game began Freddie was on the bench.

The first half went by and the team was winning 6-0.  After the second half the score was 6-6.  In the third half the other team scored, then Freddie's team scored.  Freddie got mad because it was a close game and he wanted to blow the team out.  During the fourth half the coach put Freddie in the game with 5 seconds left.  It was all up to him so the quarter back said,"blue 42, red 18, set, hit, hit."

The quarterback gave the ball to the halfback and he ran right to Freddie but Freddie let him run right by and they lost the game.  The coach told Freddie he could have stopped the halfback.  The team was in the losers column.  Coach took Freddit out of the lineup for the next game.  Freddie went home crying/sobbing because he lost the game for the team.

The next game was two Saturdays from today.  Time flew by and the game was only one hour away.  Freddie was so excited but he was worried because if they lost the game the team  wouldn't  have another game for the rest of that season.

When the game was about to begin the coach told Freddie to go sit on the bench.  He was real angry.  Freddie's team got the ball first and scored first while Freddie cheered. The other team scored and Freddie yelled booooooo. That was bad sportsmanship.  The score was 6-6 by the third half.  When the fourth half was just beginning the coach finally put Freddie in the game.

The crowd all said booo because they thought that Freddie was going to lose the game for them.  The quarterback snapped the ball to the halfback and he ran at Freddie.  Freddie picked him up and slammed him.  The halfback fumbled the ball.  Freddie picked up the ball and ran for a touchdown.  10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards.  TOUCHDOWN!!!!  The team poured Gatorade on the coach and they celebrated by having a party.  No one could forgot that day and everyone live happily ever after.
